Tanapat Palaga is an immunologist in the Department of Microbiology Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University. His research interest focuses on vaccine development for tuberculosis (TB) and cancer. His works reported a model subunit protein vaccine for tuberculosis that engineer the antigens or the delivery system to target the antigen for cytosolic processing and presentation for better CD8 T cell activation in antigen presenting cells. His recent work shifted to an mRNA-based vaccine targeting cancer antigen and TB antigens in an animal model. In addition, his group is also investing the novel vaccine delivery systems/devices, in collaboration with chemists and private sector.
